As previously mentioned ElijahNet had been targeted by spammers. All files had to be deleted and re-uploaded, the gallery has been upgraded, the forum has been deleted and I had to re-install all scripts, including WordPress, meaning all older updates from New Year are gone. Everything should be running smothly, but please, if you encounter any problems, let me know!
Furthermore some pages have been re-written. Take a look at the new Biography, Quotes, Film Quotes and Quotes On Elijah. You might also have noticed there is currently only one skin available. I’ve decided to go with this layout for now. The old skins had been used for over a year, it was about time for them to retire. Keep a lookout for a new design! If you have any suggestions or wishes, maybe you want your favourite picture to be used in the new design - please drop a comment and I will do my best to fulfill your wish. I always appreciate feedback and suggestions from visitors!
Lastly, the forum will not return, due to the inactivity. Running and maintaining message boards requires a lot of time and dedication, which I am not prepared to offer unless more members register and participate in discussions. In the poll I had a few weeks ago over 50 users voted they would register if a forum was installed. When the message boards finally were installed and customized, I only had 7 registered users. Don’t count on a forum any time soon, statistics show ElijahNet’s traffic, the number of unique visitors and hits, has in a very short amount of time plummeted, the site is visited by fewer and fewer users and the trend does not seem to turn. This discourages me.
Speaking of which, the bad news, that is the reason there have been no updates lately. I simply feel I do not get enough recognition for my hard work. ElijahNet is a solo effort, I alone do all the work you see on this site, I do not get any compensation whatsoever, on the contrary, I have spent quite a few pennies on the site. I always do my utmost to maintain a high quality site, which ElijahNet is. Running a huge site as ElijahNet is not an easy task, I spend all my spare-time (and I mean all) on this site. I have finally, after three years, come to the realization it is just not worth it. The effort and time I spend on the site could be used for so much more important things, things I should have prioritized years ago. At this point I am not sure how to proceed. It is a shame since there is not a single Eiljah Wood site on the net with frequent and regular updates. It would also be a shame to give up the site since so much hard work has been spent on it, but at the same time, I can no longer pour my heart and soul into this site. I have a life too. I just need to live it.
For those few of you who still visit ElijahNet on a regular basis, whether you comment or not, thank you. And the even fewer who visit and comment, thank you for your support! It has not gone by unrecognized, I assure you that.
